Are you accepting mediocrity?
The economic climate we’re experiencing will shine a light on performance in a way we haven’t seen since the GFC. In this environment, as in every downturn, some will prove their real worth, and others will demonstrate just why they’re not the people to take your business forward.
The harsh reality is that, while accepting mediocre performance might be excusable in buoyant times, it simply isn’t something businesses can, or should, accept when the pressure is on.
Ask yourself, have we created a climate where high expectations are set, where accountability exists, where people feel responsible to their peers for their performance? Or are we accepting mediocrity and hoping to squeak through until things get better?
If now isn’t the time to act, then when?
